STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) is a natural fit for the outdoors. You’ve heard of makerspace, now it’s time to visit NatureSpace!
During this drop-in, self-guided program, participants will explore birds and their adaptations for flight. Learning stations will celebrate the diversity of Michigan birds, their wing shapes and aerodynamics and their specialized flight patterns. Then, participants will have the opportunity to design and craft a bottle rocket bird using the materials in CNC’s NatureSpace classroom. After completion, participants will have the opportunity to launch their bird and measure flight distance and time. Come explore, make and learn in this hands-on, minds-on avian STEM challenge!
