Please join us as Rescue Ministries of Mid-Michigan celebrates the opening of the Doud House. The event will include a prayer dedication, ribbon cutting and open house.
The Doud House is a five-bed transitional housing facility on the campus of Good Samaritan Rescue Mission. It helps youth ages 16-17 prepare for adulthood, offering up to 18 months of shelter, meals, mentoring, case management and vocational goal support. It is licensed and staffed 24 hours a day.
The Doud House is part of our Samaritan Youth Services, which also includes the Samaritan Youth Shelter and Labadie Lofts. The Samaritan Youth Shelter offers emergency shelter for up to 21 days to homeless youth ages 12 to 17. Labadie Lofts is a 10-unit, single-occupancy apartment complex for young adults who are pursuing full-time education or vocational training, and have experienced homelessness or are aging out of foster care.
The Doud House is dedicated to the memory of Rick Doud, who was our first Samaritan Youth Services Administrator.
