Join us for an afternoon with Mixter to discuss his newest book "Tattletale Sounds: The Edmund Fitzgerald Investigations." Some believe the last chapter of the legend of the Edmund Fitzgerald was written when the bell of the famous freighter was raised from the depths of Lake Superior in 1995, but author Ric Mixter has found 300 pages of new material to share on the story. The book compiles decades of research on the shipwreck; the first to interview shipyard workers at Great Lakes Engineering Works in Ecorse, Michigan. From the welders to the towering gantry crane operator, it’s a unique look at not only the Fitzgerald, but a shipbuilding Mecca that ended with two other ships after the Fitz.
