Michigan’s Children will host a forum for candidates running in the 31st State Senate, 96th State House and 98th State House Districts on Monday, Oct. 15, 2018 with Bay City area teens posing questions to candidates based on the youths’ own experiences. Participating youth will represent the Bay City Public Schools’ 21st Century After-School Program, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Lakes Bay Region, and The ROCK Center for Youth Development in Midland. In addition, the Bay-Arenac Intermediate School District, the Michigan After-School Partnership, the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance, and the Michigan Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs are supporting the effort. The non-partisan forum is scheduled for 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm at the Boys and Girls Club of the Great Lakes Bay Region, 300 Lafayette Avenue, Bay City. Among topics for discussion will be the need for quality before- and after-school programs in Michigan. Candidates will be given equal time for each answer.
