Chippewa Nature Center Offering Kayak Trips Now-October
Chippewa Nature Center (CNC) will offer naturalist-led kayak trips now through October. No experience is necessary, and CNC will provide a kayak, paddle and life jacket. Participants may register online at www.chippewanaturecenter.org, by phone at 989.631.0830 or in person at CNC. If weather or water conditions are unfavorable, the trip will be cancelled at the discretion of CNC staff and participants will receive a refund.
Upper Chippewa River Kayak – Spend an evening paddling down the Chippewa River with a naturalist as you look for turtles, fish, herons, hawks and eagles. After meeting at the Visitor Center, we’ll travel to the universal access launch on Chippewa River Road via CNC van and begin a leisurely paddle down river back the Nature Center.

Meet at the Visitor Center for a quick lesson on basic kayaking skills before kayaking to the Tridge in Downtown Midland. Bring a snack, water bottle and water shoes. We will return via CNC van.

$25/non-member, $20/member | Ages: 9+, under 18 w/adultPaddles & Pints – Spend an evening kayaking down the Chippewa River with a naturalist as you look for turtles, fish, eagles and other wildlife. Meet at the Tridge where CNC staff will shuttle participants via 15-passenger van to CNC’s canoe/kayak launch. We’ll end at the Tridge in Downtown Midland where participants may take a short walk to WhichCraft Taproom for a refreshing drink. A $10 voucher is included with registration.

Chippewa Nature Center is located at 400 S Badour Rd in Midland. Enjoy 19 miles of trails from dawn-to-dark, 365 days a year. Its Visitor Center is open 8 am-5 pm Monday-Saturday and 12-5 pm. Sunday and holidays with free admission.
