CNC Hires Interpretive Naturalist Lindsey Harrell

Chippewa Nature Center (CNC) has hired Lindsey Harrell as an Interpretive Naturalist. Harrell most recently worked for Colorado Parks and Wildlife as a Seasonal Interpretive Naturalist, where she developed and presented interpretive programs connecting visitors to the natural and cultural history of the area. Prior to that, she was an Interpretive Naturalist for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources.

Harrell is a Certified Interpretive Guide through the National Association for Interpretation, a training that combines the theoretical foundations of the profession with practical skills in delivering quality interpretive programming to visitors. She is also certified in Project Learning Tree®, Project WILD and Aquatic WILD, trainings designed to help students develop environmental knowledge. She has experience caring for live animal collections, including raptors, reptiles and amphibians, and has served as a volunteer animal rehabilitator assistant. Harrell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography with a minor in Natural Resources from Ball State University.

Harrell notes, “This position with CNC fits my passion for conservation education and cultural preservation. I look forward to the opportunity to use my certifications and experience as an environmental educator to develop and conduct interpretive programs for Chippewa Nature Center.”
