Five Straight Years, MyMichigan Honored for Digital Excellence

MIDLAND, Mich. – For five straight years, MyMichigan Health again earned two honors by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) HealthCare’s Most Wired survey. MyMichigan received the 2023 Most Wired Certified Level 7 Acute Award, as well as the 2023 Most Wired Certified Level 7 Ambulatory Award. The CHIME Digital Health Most Wired program conducts an annual survey to assess how effectively health care organizations apply core and advanced technologies into their clinical and business programs to improve health and care in their communities.

“Health care continues to evolve at a rapid pace and information technology needs to be in front of those changes. The more effective we can be when it comes to implementing new programs and services for our patients helps us be more effective in the care we provide,” said Dan Waltz, chief information officer, MyMichigan Health. “Recognized as a Most Wired organization five years in a row means something. It reflects the support of our leadership and hard work of our outstanding information technology team that has a continued focus on information technology, where we are today and where we need to be to best serve our patients and health care providers.”

Among the more than 55,000 facilities represented, MyMichigan Health ranked above peers in categories like analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure, and patient engagement. The survey assessed the adoption, integration and impact of technologies in health care organizations at all stages of development, from early development to industry leading.

Innovations implementing the latest in information technology at MyMichigan Health in 2023 include the adoption of predictive models that improve detection of sepsis, and improvements to the health system’s virtual video visit system that eases patient access and improves the on-demand EZCare experience. Most Wired also demonstrates a continued commitment to security and controls that protect critical health systems from cyber-attacks. In addition, since 2016, MyMichigan Health has more than 415,620 virtual care visits and saved patients more than 5 million miles of travel.

“We are proud to recognize your organization’s exceptional dedication to digital health excellence,” said CHIME President and CEO Russell P. Branzell. “Your pioneering performance in the industry not only inspires other organizations by example, but also provides patients around the world with better care. To support your planning for the future, we have designed the Digital Health Most Wired program to deliver valuable insights into best practices, HIT adoption patterns, and digital health market trends.”

The Digital Health Most Wired survey and recognition program serves as a comprehensive “Digital Health Check-up” for health care organizations across the world. As success in digital health increasingly determines the quality of patient care, the scope of the CHIME Digital Health Most Wired survey reflects the progress of leading health care providers as they reinvent health care for a new century.
