MidMichigan Health Recognized with Community Health Excellence Award
MIDLAND, Mich. – The Michigan Health Improvement Alliance, Inc. (MiHIA) has recognized MidMichigan Health with a gold Community Health Excellence Award. This award recognizes outstanding contributions to improving the health status of the community each organization serves. This is the second year MidMichigan Health was awarded recognition from MiHIA, having received the bronze Community Health Excellence Award in 2016.
Organizations applying for the award must show efforts toward improving the health of its employees, including initiatives in organizational support, tobacco control, access to healthy foods and beverages, physical activity and mental health and well-being.
“This award makes it apparent that we are moving in the right direction with regards to the health and wellness of our employees,” said Diane Postler-Slattery, Ph.D., president, MidMichigan Health. “In 2016, we were recognized with a bronze Community Health Excellence Award, and just two years later, we’re at the gold level. It shows that at MidMichigan Health, we care about the well-being of our employees.”
Recognition is awarded to workplaces who have contributed to improving the culture of health in any capacity. Both evidence-based and innovative actions were considered for the award. This initiative was developed by MiHIA’s Population Health Strategy Team and aligned to the MiHIA Quadruple Aim Leadership Committee of the Board of Directors.
