News Release: 2/11/2021
The Samaritan Youth Shelter (SYS) program is designed to help homeless and runaway youth between the ages of 12 and 17 in the Great Lakes Bay area. Teens may be dealing with several issues including physical and emotional abuse. When a youth, ages 12-17, find themselves homeless and referred to the Samaritan Youth Shelter they will encounter clean, safe accommodations in an attractive setting. This initial positive impression will open the door for creating a personalized assessment and plan that will guide them toward a permanent housing placement. That plan will help counselors as they assist teens in connecting with community resources specialized in meeting their specific needs. If you are a homeless teen, or know a homeless teen that needs assistance, call Good Samaritan Rescue Mission at 989-893-5973 and ask for the Samaritan Youth Shelter. We are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our Youth Shelter staff will answer your questions and provide timely information to help you get the emergency shelter needed.
