Volunteers Needed, Jan. 29 Coffee Talk Explores Opportunities

MIDLAND, Mich. – Those who volunteer often do so to help others and to make a difference in their communities. Volunteering has personal rewards, as well. Volunteers make new friends, learn new skills, build new and better relationships and stay mentally and physically active.

MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland offers many roles for volunteers. Volunteers are important at the Medical Center to patients, families and to staff because they provide services that assist patients and visitors in finding their way and being comfortable while also complementing staff roles. Volunteers are needed in more than 25 areas throughout the Medical Center including reception areas, patient service areas, fund raising, Popcorn Service and more. Applicants are matched according to their interests and location wishes for volunteer roles.

To learn more about volunteering at the Medical Center, Diana Brookens, volunteer manager, will host a “Coffee Talk” on Tuesday, Jan. 29, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in H1221, located inside the Hospital Entrance. Over coffee and cookies, volunteer representatives from many Medical Center service areas will provide information and answer questions. No reservation is required, and all interested community members are invited to attend.

Those interested in more information regarding volunteer opportunities available through MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland contact Diana Brookens at (989) 839-3340.
