• Seasonal Marina Dock Attendant

    *Please note: these positions will not be hired directly by the City of Bay City, however referred to a Temporary Agency to complete the application/hiring process.*

    *All positions are seasonal/summer/temporary, non-union, with no benefit.


    Marina Dock Attendant: (approximate dates: May 1 - October 15)
    Under supervision of the Marina Manager, Dock Attendants perform a variety of services to assist with the maintenance and management of Liberty Harbor Marina including grounds and building maintenance, sales of goods and services, and recordkeeping. Duties are regularly performed in an outdoor work environment, and Attendants will be exposed to a variety of weather conditions.

    JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Must provide excellent customer service and be able to work cooperatively with other employees.
    • Performs grounds and building maintenance services to ensure for clean and attractive facilities. Duties include but are not limited to: collecting and removing trash and litter, mowing lawns, sweeping walks, weeding and watering landscapes, cleaning the restrooms, showers and attendant's station.
    • Assigntransient boat slips, which includes handling cash and preparing receipts.
    • Assists tensure that the Marina rules and regulations are adhered to.
    • Performs related duties as assigned.

    • Work requires regular physical presence at the job site to perform job duties. Must be available to work flexible hours on a regular basis.
    • Ability to interact with boaters and members of the public in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Ability to perform required job duties in a safe and responsible manner.
    • Ability to safely operate small gas powered maintenance equipment.
    • Good communication skills; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
    • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision and successfully complete assigned job tasks.
    • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with the public and other employees.
    • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and pressure.

    Additional Qualifications:

    High school diploma or GED required.

    Must be at least 18 years of age.
    Possession of a valid State of Michigan Driver's License and safe driving record at time of appointment.
    Working knowledge of cash handling and reporting.
    Ability to swim.
