Midland, MI –  Renue Physical Therapy – Midland has welcomed three new providers to its growing team, including the launch of three new service lines: certified hand therapy, pediatric occupational and feeding therapy, and pediatric speech-language therapy.

Joining the Renue team in June are Ben Freeland, OTRL, CHT, CEAS; Grace Hawkins, MSOT, OTRL; and Ashtyn Mlasko, CCC-SLP. Each brings specialized expertise and experience to help launch these new services in Midland.

Ben Freeland, OTRL, CHT, CEAS is a certified hand therapist with over 15 years of experience, specializes in the treatment of hand, wrist, and upper extremity injuries. Freeland’s background in outpatient orthopedics and neurology enhances Renue’s hand therapy services in Midland.

Grace Hawkins, BS, MSOT, OTRL is an occupational therapist and feeding specialist, brings a wide range of pediatric experience to the clinic. She specializes in helping children with sensory, behavioral, and developmental challenges, and is trained in the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding.

Ashtyn Mlasko, CCC-SLP is a speech-language pathologist, joins the team with a strong background in both pediatric and adult care. Her specialties include dysphagia therapy, literacy-based language intervention, and other language disorders and delays. Mlasko is also trained in the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) Approach to Feeding.

While certified hand therapy is an existing service also offered at Renue’s Frankenmuth and Saginaw – Bay Road clinics, Midland will be the first Renue clinic to offer pediatric speech and feeding therapy.

“These new hires reflect our continued commitment to bringing the highest quality care to the Midland community,” said Tony Klapish, CEO of Renue Physical Therapy. “Renue has offered certified hand therapy for a few years now, but we are excited to launch it in Midland. We’re especially proud to introduce pediatric speech and feeding therapy services for the first time at Renue. It's a major milestone in our mission to meet the needs of patients across every stage of life.”

Freeland, Hawkins, and Mlasko join the team under the leadership of Managing Partner Alicia Heading, PT, DPT, who has led the Renue Midland team since 2013.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ben, Grace, and Ashtyn to the Renue – Midland team,” said Heading. “Their expertise and dedication will be a tremendous asset to our patients and community. Expanding into pediatric therapy allows us to serve families in a more comprehensive way than ever before.”
