  • Purpose

The Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation's Business and Education Partnership (BEP) connects local businesses with educators to support workforce development and prepare students for future careers. From job shadowing and career talks to Mock Job Interviews and internships, BEP helps align classroom learning with real-world skills. By building strong partnerships, we’re shaping a more prepared, work and life ready talent pipeline for our region.

    Value to Members

The Business and Education Partnership (BEP) is an invite-only initiative that connects select Chamber members with local educators to help shape the future workforce. Even if your business is not directly involved, BEP supports a stronger regional economy by ensuring students are better prepared with the skills and mindset needed to succeed in today’s job market.

By aligning classroom learning with real-world experiences such as mock interviews, career talks, job shadows, and internships, BEP helps build a more capable and work-ready talent pipeline for all industries. When local students gain a clearer understanding of career opportunities and expectations, it benefits the entire business community by creating a more informed, motivated, and prepared workforce.

Whether you are actively participating or simply supporting the effort, BEP helps strengthen our region’s talent development strategy and benefits businesses of every size and sector.

  • Programs

The Business and Education Partnership offers hands-on opportunities that bring classroom learning to life. Through engaging simulations and real-world experiences, students gain valuable skills that prepare them for the workplace and adult responsibilities. These programs also allow local employers to connect with future talent and invest in the next generation of our workforce.

    Mock Job Interviews
Give students the opportunity to experience a real-world interview setting with local employers. These sessions help students build confidence, sharpen their communication skills, and receive constructive feedback. By participating, students are better prepared for future job opportunities and long-term career success.

    Bite of Reality
Bite of Reality is an engaging financial literacy simulation designed to teach students how to manage personal finances. Using a mobile app and a fictional profile, students make budgeting decisions for housing, transportation, food, and more, all while dealing with surprise expenses and real-life choices. This hands-on experience builds financial confidence, improves decision-making, and prepares students for future independence.

  • Share Your Opportunity or Propose a Classroom Connection
Do you have a unique career story, educational topic, or workplace insight to share with students? Are you offering a program, tour, or opportunity that could help students explore career paths? The BEP welcomes your ideas. Whether you are a professional, business owner, nonprofit leader, or educator, this form lets you pitch a classroom presentation or experiential opportunity that could benefit local students and teachers.
