• 35th District Special Election

Voters in Michigan’s 35th State Senate District will see a special election on the ballot in 2026 to fill a vacant seat in the Michigan State Senate.

A special election is held when an elected office becomes vacant before the end of a term. Rather than waiting until the next regularly scheduled election cycle, the state calls a special election so residents in the district continue to have representation in Lansing.

The 35th District includes portions of Bay, Midland, and Saginaw counties. Residents who live within the district boundaries are eligible to vote in this election.

The special primary election will be held on February 3, 2026, and the general election will be held on May 5, 2026.
