About Us
Bay City Public Schools serve 7,500 students through a comprehensive K-12 education program, special education, vocational/career development, gifted, music, world language and athletics. Our 265 square-mile district houses students in two high schools, two middle, eight elementary and one alternative education program - our district serves both an urban and suburban/rural population.

View Personal BioDr. Stephen C. Bigelow, Ph. DDr. Stephen (Steve) Bigelow was named Superintendent of Bay City Schools in July 2017, and moved with his two children and wife from the Detroit area to Bay City in August. He holds Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Education Specialist (EdS) degrees from Oakland University, a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Dr. Bigelow’s prior positions include Superintendent of Capac Community Schools, Principal of Cousino High School in Warren, Principal of Carleton Middle School in Sterling Heights, Assistant Principal of Beer Middle School in Warren, and as a teacher in South Lyon Community Schools and Warren Consolidated Schools.Tell a Friend
