Purpose
Advocacy is one of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce’s strategic priorities: to maintain a leadership position in the Great Lakes Bay Region as an advocate for pro-business policies. The Advocacy Committee plays a vital role in advancing this mission by serving as the collective voice of our membership on public policy issues that impact the business community. The committee monitors local, state, and federal legislation, educates members on key issues, and engages with elected officials to ensure business interests are represented in the policymaking process.
Value to Members
Through the Advocacy Committee, Chamber members gain a direct connection to the legislative process and a seat at the table on issues that matter. From advocating for infrastructure improvements and talent development initiatives to supporting business-friendly regulation and economic development strategies, the committee helps shape a stronger business climate.Members benefit from regular policy updates, issue briefings, access to decision-makers, and opportunities to influence regional and statewide outcomes. By participating, you help amplify the voice of Bay County businesses and contribute to a thriving economic environment.

About Us
The Friends of the Historic Masonic Temple are dedicated to creating a Community Center for the Arts within the 130+ year old structure that is the Historic Masonic Temple, 700 N. Madison Ave., Bay City, MI 48708. With a focus on arts education, performance and artist incubation we invite everyone to come create with us. The majority of our programming has been suggested or developed by the community at large and we are continuing to add new programs to our calendar. The building offers many unique spaces including 3 beautiful auditoriums. If you are looking for a space to create or enjoy the art of others, please visit us at the Historic Masonic Temple. We host open house hours every 3rd Saturday, 1-4 pm. You can reach us via email or phone at Friends@HMTBC.org, Kelley@HMTBC.org, or 989-632-5097
